Hytera VM780

Nationwide PoC Communications. Real-Time Video Streaming. Secure Evidence Collection.

Hytera VM780 Body Worn Camera with PoC Radio

The Hytera VM780 Body Worn Camera integrates a body camera with a remote speaker microphone to capture, store, and share video and audio in the field. This multi-functional design reduces equipment costs and simplifies communications. Supporting nationwide Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) voice calling, the VM780 can be used with the Hytera HORIZON and HALO Dispatch web-based applications, as well as digital evidence management platforms, to ensure complete situational awareness and security.

High-Quality Video Capture

The device features a 216° rotatable camera with a wide angle and large field of view for flexible hand-held or uniform-attached operation. It captures high-resolution 16 Megapixel images and mp4/1080p video recording. The system utilizes H.265 high-efficiency video compression technology to drastically reduce streaming bandwidth and cellular data plan costs.

On-Site, Real-Time Video Streaming

Video calling can be streamed real-time back to dispatch over cellular 4G/5G/LTE or Wi-Fi networks for nationwide monitoring of events. The device features built-in GPS, which enables nationwide dispatching and location tracking for coordinating fast emergency responses. Dispatchers can utilize this GPS data to provide wide-area tracking of driver locations and travel routes with time stamps.

Enhanced Safety Video Capture

To ensure critical events are never missed, a pre and post recording video buffer captures events for up to 30 seconds before and after the user turns the video recording on or off. When the dedicated emergency button is pressed, the VM780 will automatically start video recording and immediately trigger the emergency alarm. All captured evidence—including images, audio, and video—is protected by AES256 advanced encryption during local storage and transmission.

Digital Evidence Management

Video recorded on the VM780 can be seamlessly transferred at the end of a shift to a single-site data collection station. Using the multi-unit chargers with data connectivity, up to 18 VM780 devices can simultaneously upload video to a single Integrated Device Station (IDS) workstation. This IDS automatically imports and uploads the data to the cloud Digital Evidence Management Platform, subsequently clearing the collected data from the VM780 securely.

  • Rugged and Easy to Use: The ruggedized design is compliant with MIL-STD 810G standards and features IP68 water and dust protection.

  • Clear Audio: Delivers crystal-clear audio powered by dual microphones with noise suppression and dual 1.5 Watt speakers.

  • Watermark Stamping: Users can choose to stamp different watermarks directly on videos and photos, such as Date and Time, Device ID, or User ID.

  • Field-Swappable Power: Batteries can be easily swapped in the field for extended use beyond a standard shift.

  • PoC Group Calling: Supports Push-to-Talk over Cellular with individual and group calls between dispatch, the VM780, and other PoC devices.

Digital Evidence Management (DEM) Setup

Properly handling chain-of-custody for digital evidence requires robust software architecture. The Digital Evidence Management Platform collects and stores digital evidence on a cloud server for centralized storage and control. Teltra engineers help set up this backend infrastructure, assigning different permissions to different users for data security and ensuring your system is capable of processing massive amounts of video data.

Dispatch and Location Tracking Configuration

The VM780 is supported on HORIZON Dispatch and Hytera HALO Dispatch, both of which are powerful web-based dispatch applications. We configure your control center to interface with the built-in GPS of the VM780, providing wide-area tracking of locations and travel routes. We also map your dynamic groups so dispatchers can quickly create communication channels geographically by selecting an area on the dispatch map.

Integrated Device Station (IDS) Networking

Uploading high-definition video manually from dozens of cameras is inefficient. Teltra provisions and networks the MCL30 Multi-unit Charger with Data Connectivity. This allows your team to charge six body cameras simultaneously while the IDS software automatically exports audio, videos, photos, and log files using the standard USB cable.

Cellular Provisioning and Video Streaming

Streaming real-time video back to dispatch requires reliable nationwide cellular connections. Teltra handles the procurement and activation of the necessary SIM cards and enhanced data plans. We ensure your devices are configured to utilize H.265 high-efficiency video compression technology to reduce streaming bandwidth and optimize your data plan costs.

How Teltra Can Help

Equipping your security, corrections, or plant operations teams with the Hytera VM780 transforms your communications infrastructure. By integrating a body camera with a remote speaker microphone, you eliminate the need to carry two separate devices. However, managing live 4G/LTE video streams, automated evidence uploads, and AES256 advanced encryption protocols requires dedicated IT support. At Teltra, we provide end-to-end integration. From configuring your multi-unit data chargers and provisioning cellular plans to establishing your cloud-based Digital Evidence Management Platform, we ensure your organization is protected and connected.
